ON THE JUICE

The Sparks Go Flying On The Old L & N W R. Wednesday 4th February 1981.

ALI Class 81 No. 81 016

An Interesting Photograph Portraying Electric Motive Power From Both Sides Of The Thames, As A Southern Suburban Set Approaches Leighton Buzzard On The West Coast Main Line Hauled By A Class 81. I Have No Idea Why? Does Anybody Out There Know?

AL6 Class 86/2 No. 86 248

Getting A Wiggle On Through Tring, An Un-Named Example Of A Class 86.

AL7 Class 87 No. 87 014

Class 87 No. 87 014 On An Up Express For Euston, Seen From The Trackbed Of The Long Defunct L.N.W.R Branch Line To Aylesbury, At Cheddington.

AL6 Class 86/2 No. 86 228

Air Smoothed Coaching Stock, The Load For This Class 86 Tearing Through Leighton Buzzard.

AL7 Class 87 No. 87 031

Another Class 87 Storms Through Tring. In The Days Of Steam There Were Some Very Important Water Troughs Located In Tring Cutting, Where Thirsty Steam Locomotives Could Dip Their Water Scoops And Top Up Their Tenders.

AL6 Class 86/2 No. 86 242

Another Un-Named Class 86 Heads For London Through Leighton Buzzard. As The Last Coach Passed The Heavens Opened And Everywhere Got A Severe Soaking. I Think The Train Escaped Though.

AL7 Class 87 No. 87 001

Doyen Of The Class, 87 001 Journeys Southward Through Leighton Buzzard. I'm Afraid I Found The Electric Locomotives On The West Coast Main Line Very 'Samey' And Did Not Venture Out To Photograph Them As Often As Perhaps I Should Have? Electric Traction For Me Has No Attraction, It's All Too Clinical For My Taste.
