Long After The Demise Of Their Big Sisters The Vale Of Rheidol Steam Fleet Of Three Locomotives Still Carried The British Rail Banner. Rightly Becoming The Last Steam Locomotives Operating Under The Auspicies Of ,The Then Still Nationalised, British Rail. Here At Aberystwyth In The 1970s, During The Days Of The Corporate Rail Blue Livery, A Change Of Locomotive Has Just Taken  Place, With No.9 Being Relieved By No.7.

9000 Class 'Dukedog' 4-4-0 No. 3217 'Earl Of Berkeley'

Early Days On The Bluebell Line. Having Reclaimed Her Former Identity No.9017 (Now 3217 'Earl Of Berkeley') Positions In The Small Yard South Of Sheffield Park Station In The Late 1960s. Although The Locomotive Was Moving Forward, The Driver And Fireman Seem More Preoccupied With Something To The Rear.
